My Classroom is all set!

It has taken four weeks to get my classroom how I want it, but I have finally done it! The first area of my classroom is where student hand in work and pick up work they missed when they're absent. (See photo below) I have a bin for each block and I have one area with labels for each day of the week for absent materials.

The next area of my classroom is my classroom library and my bookshelves for student materials for my reading classes. Last year I kept my classroom library behind my desk, and I didn't give students a chance to see what they could read from my collection. I already have several more students borrowing books from my library this school year. The flower basket holds books from the school library that students are using during SSR.

I went with a new filing cabinet system this school year. I decided to have a drawer for each course I am teaching. I have drawer for data past and present. I also decided to have a miscellaneous drawer; it'll most likely become my junk drawer.

I am a member of my school's AVID site team. I am trying to incorporate the use of Cornell Notes more this school year.

These are the bins I am using to store my student's interactive notebooks. I will be posting more about these as the year progresses.

This is my homework board. Last year I tried to do a chart, but I was constantly running out of room. This year it's more free form so I can adjust where the days of the week are when I have more homework assigned on different dates.
This is my student supply table. If a student is missing paper, pencils, pens, etc. they come back here.
This where I post my objective and agenda for each class. The agenda is also posted on the SmartBoard at the beginning of each class.
This is my teacher bookshelf. All of my units and teacher materials are stored here.

So that is a quick tour of my classroom. I am really excited to have it set up and ready to use.

Back to School

So it's the week before teachers head back to school, and I'm in my classroom getting things set up. Once I'm done I'll post about the different areas of my room and why I have them set up the way I do, but for now a look at the room in progress.
